The English Teacher in Vietnam taught my wife, “Wow, do you hear that smell? That’s nasty”.
Last I knew, you do not use your nose to hear, but they must in Viet Nam.
So, most likely, it was proofed by someone that knows English.

That’s just sad. Anyone who is teaching English should know the language well enough to speak it properly and catch simple mistakes.
I can’t say much on the topic though — English is my first language and I’m not fluent in any other language so I don’t feel I have the qualifications to judge non-English speaking people. But when it comes to a company as large as Hitachi, with all the money they put into product development you’d think they could afford to have someone qualified proofread their stuff.
